Imagine being forced out of your home just because you are different. It’s an all too common scenario for teens and young adults as they come out to their families or are outed for being gay lesbian or transgender. Nationally, 40% of LGBTQ youth say they’re homeless. That’s according to the Williams Institute – a think tank dedicated to research on sexual orientation and gender identity. Reporter Jamil Donith meets some young adults working with a program in Palm Beach County to come off the street and into care.
