From soccer to transportation innovations to more jobs Miami-Dade County is on a roll. In this week’s state of the county address Mayor Carlos Gimenez reported a big drop in unemployment, down more than one percentage point from this time last year. It’s currently 4-point-4 percent. That’s just slightly higher that the national average 4.1 percent. He highlighted the need for major improvements to public transportation if we want the region to grow. And the mayor was finally able to report David Beckham and Major League Soccer are officially coming to South Florida.
