We are always looking for your take on things – and we of course want to hear your Florida Keys recovery stories. This week we heard from key largo resident Joe Delgado.
Joe lives at the Kawama Yacht Club next to John Pennekamp State Park – he’s concerned about the neighborhood’s lagoon and its normally pristine waters.
They’ve turned murky and dark from hurricane debris – and there are lots of dead fish in the water. Joe says he’s reported the problem to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission – he wants to make sure any issues in the Kawama lagoon don’t spread to neighboring John Pennekamp State Park. But since the lagoon is on private property – it will be up to the property management to address the issue.
He’ll keep us posted on the lagoon’s health and any progress on getting things back to normal.
